ChatGPT and AI search for roofers
Zentora Digital Marketing, a roofing marketing agency in Dallas, works on getting roofing companies named in ChatGPT and Google's AI answers. Every plan, starting with Starter at $500 a month, checks what ChatGPT and Google's AI say about your company each month and puts out a press release every other month. Full AEO (answer engine optimization), the site work that helps AI tools find and quote you, comes with Scale at $4,000 a month. Nobody can promise what ChatGPT will say, so we measure it every month.
These tools build their answers from pages they can find and trust: your website, your Google profile, directories, news and lists that name you. Google says any page that can show in its regular results is eligible for its AI answers, with no special code.

What runs every month
From $500 a month
Visibility tracking and press releases are in every plan. Full AEO comes with Scale.
- A monthly AI check, on every plan We ask ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google's AI for a roofer in your towns the way a homeowner would, then ask about your company by name, and check the phone number, review count and details against your Google profile.
- A press release every other month Your company named on news sites through a press wire, every other month on Starter and Growth and every month on Scale.
- Citations and Bing Places Your name, address and phone the same on every listing. OpenAI hasn't named the data providers behind ChatGPT's map results, so every listing you control should match.
- Your Google Business Profile, on every plan Kept complete and active. Google ranks local results on relevance, distance and how well known a business is, and says complete information helps.
- Crawler and snippet settings, on Growth and Scale Your robots.txt checked so OAI-SearchBot, the crawler ChatGPT search uses, can read your site, and every page checked for nosnippet, data-nosnippet, max-snippet or noindex settings that keep it out of AI answers.
- Pages that answer questions, on Scale Service, city and cost pages that open with a plain answer, name your towns the way homeowners type them, and carry schema that matches what visitors see.
AI visibility checks start at $500 a month
AI search isn't sold on its own, because it comes out of the profile, the listings and the site. Each plan does more of it.
| Plan | Price | What it does for AI search |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | $500 a month | The monthly AI check, a press release every other month, citations and Bing Places, and the Google profile work. |
| Growth | $1,500 a month | Everything in Starter, plus website upkeep, where the crawler and snippet settings live, basic SEO, Local Services Ads, lead tracking and speed to lead. |
| Scale | $4,000 a month | Full AEO and SEO: new pages written to answer homeowners' questions, rewrites, local links and a press release every month, plus the 20-inspection guarantee. |
| Website build | $1,000 one time | A site with schema and plain-answer FAQs built in. Waived if your site has already been rebuilt. |
Every plan is month to month. The ad budget on Growth and Scale is billed by Google to your card and never marked up.

ChatGPT can change its answer within days of Google indexing a page
- Week 1
We ask ChatGPT and Google's AI the questions your customers ask, then ask ChatGPT to list the pages it used. Those sources are what your pages and listings need to match.
- Week 1, on Growth and Scale
Robots.txt and snippet settings checked and fixed. OpenAI says its systems can take about 24 hours to adjust after a robots.txt change.
- First month
Citations and Bing Places made consistent, and the first press release out.
- After a page is indexed
Ask again a few days later. Google indexed our own Dallas page on October 12, 2026, and ChatGPT named Zentora the next day.
- Every month
The AI check repeats on the same questions. ChatGPT's answers change from one run to the next, so a single answer proves little, and we report the trend over months.
Google says its AI answers need no llms.txt file or special markup
As of October 2026, Google's guide for site owners says no special optimizations are needed for AI Overviews or AI Mode, and names what you can skip: new machine-readable files, AI text files such as llms.txt, extra markup and special structured data. If a marketing quote carries a line for one of those, sold as the way into AI answers, strike it.
The settings that do matter sit on your own site. A page marked nosnippet or noindex for some other reason has also taken itself out of Google's AI answers, and a site that blocks OAI-SearchBot is left out of ChatGPT's search answers. GPTBot, OpenAI's training crawler, has its own rule, so a site can refuse training and still allow search.
Search Console can't split out AI answer clicks, so count the calls
Search Console counts clicks from AI Overviews and AI Mode inside its ordinary Web figures, with no separate line, so a tool that claims to show your AI Overview traffic on its own is estimating. When Pew Research Center tracked US adults' Google searches in March 2025, they clicked a regular result on 8% of visits that showed an AI summary, against 15% when none appeared.
Add "ChatGPT or an AI answer" to the options when your office asks callers how they found you, and judge AI work by those calls. On Growth and Scale, call tracking shows which calls came from the site.
ChatGPT named Zentora for DFW three days after we published one page
On October 10, 2026 we asked ChatGPT, logged out, for the best roofing marketing agency in Dallas–Fort Worth, and it named four agencies without us. Its sources were agencies' own pages and published "best of" lists, so the same day we published a page that says in its first line that Zentora is a roofing marketing agency in Dallas.
Google indexed the page on October 12. On October 13 ChatGPT named Zentora second, citing only that page, and on October 15 it named us first. Asked for the best roofing marketing agency in the US, ChatGPT still names agencies whose sources are their own roofing service pages and named case studies.

Frequently asked questions
Can you guarantee ChatGPT recommends my roofing company?
No. Nobody controls what ChatGPT says, and its answers change from one run to the next. We check what it says about you every month, fix what we can on your site and listings, and get your name onto pages it reads.
Which plan includes AI search?
Every plan checks your Google and AI visibility monthly and includes a press release every other month, starting with Starter at $500 a month. Full AEO comes with Scale at $4,000 a month.
Do press releases help with ChatGPT?
They put your company's name and what you do on news sites AI tools can read. When ChatGPT started naming Zentora, it cited a page on our site rather than our press release from the same week, so we pair releases with your site, profile and listings.
Do I need an llms.txt file?
No. Google says its AI answers need no AI text file such as llms.txt, and no special markup, so we don't sell one.
How do I find out what ChatGPT says about my company?
Ask it for a roofer in your town the way a homeowner would, then ask about your company by name. Check the phone number and review count it gives against your Google profile, and fix any listing that carries the same mistake.
Should my website block AI crawlers?
Not the one ChatGPT search uses. OpenAI says a site that blocks OAI-SearchBot is left out of ChatGPT's search answers. GPTBot, its training crawler, has a separate rule, so you can refuse training and still allow search.
Can you track how many customers find me through ChatGPT?
Only roughly. Search Console counts AI answer clicks inside its normal figures, so add "ChatGPT or an AI answer" to the how-did-you-hear question your office asks. On Growth and Scale, call tracking shows which calls came from the site.
Is there a contract?
No. Every plan is month to month.
